The Seven Stars Inn is an English country Inn with restaurant located in the picturesque village of Shincliffe, only one and a half miles from the centre of Durham City and Durham University.  Originally a coaching Inn dating back to 1724 the Seven Stars Inn is now a friendly, family run restaurant and Inn.

Our restaurant serves a menu of modern British cusine with international influences.  We are proud to have been awarded Highest Quality Assured & Local Produce Champion for a third year running by TasteDurham. The TasteDurham mark is awarded to establishments who meet the highest national standards on menus, comfort, cleanliness, as well as rewarding those who commit to using locally sourced produce.

If you are visiting the area, we are ideally placed for a short or long break visiting the wonderful cathedral city of Durham and experiencing the sights and sounds of North East England, a region that is steeped in culture and history.  Located within Shincliffe Village you will enjoy the peace and quiet of the village where you will find many walks near the river, through the countryside, and leading into Durham City.  For a more active day, you will also find a bus stop approx. 100m from the Inn where you can catch a bus directly into the city centre.
